A real network, operated end-to-end on AS249
TransitCore is the customer-facing IP Transit brand of PacketStar Networks Limited, a UK-registered RIPE NCC member operating Autonomous System 249. AS249 is multi-homed to five Tier-1 upstreams and peers directly with major UK eyeball and global content networks.
The backbone runs on Juniper PTX10001-36MR carrier-grade routers, deployed across PoPs in London, Manchester, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. Customers get IPv4 and native IPv6, full or partial BGP tables, BGP communities for traffic engineering, and IRR-based prefix filtering on every session.
